Serene Copper Agate Pendant

Copper agates come from far north in Michigan, a lovely memory piece of the Keweenaw Copper Country. The Kearsarge Lode in the Keweenaw Peninsula of Upper Peninsula Michigan is the only source for these copper agate mineral treasures.  Copper Agates are becoming more rare and have been very popular.  It's a way to enjoy agate and copper, all in one!

The copper agate is coated with a two-part epoxy to keep it shiny. It is wrapped in 24 gauge wire giving it a delicate look. This stone is wrapped in pink gold fill, resembling the copper of the stone, giving it a quality setting, for long use.  The pink gold matches the copper of the agate. Also used is Argentium silver, a high quality, tarnish-resistant silver which picks up the white of the agate.

The copper replacement agate is one of many unusual and rare gemstones occurring in Michigan's Copper Country. These unusual agates from the Kearsarge lode never cease to amaze and surprise us when they are cut open from dark green nodules found by careful searching in certain areas near Calumet. This stone has been cut and polished, and the back also is polished, both sides are lovely. These agates have become coveted within the last few years.
