DATOLITE
Datolite is a borosilicate mineral that most commonly forms in air bubbles in basalt. In Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula it can also be found in fissure veins or a crystals, and is closely associated with copper deposits. White is the most common color of Datolite. Other colors may be characteristic of different mines. Pink, red, brown, mauve, orange, green, gray, blue, yellow, even black are some of the colors found.
Datolite is found throughout the world, but due to thenuggets formations, size of the crystals, and wide color variations, Datolite found in the Keweenaw and on Isle Royale is considered the finest and most coveted in the world. Superior jewelry from the Lake Superior area!
