Upper Peninsula Datolites are tricky to find, and they come in various colorations, depending on the mine. Cutting a Datolite is always a surprise--you never know exactly what color or pattern you might find. This special stone fits right into the current black and white fashion trend, with a most unique white, black, and silver-grey mottled pattern. Small copper veins are clearly visible in this gemstone, just making a more fabulous surprise. I’ve never seen a Datolite with quite this color and pattern.
