This Isle Royale Greenstone has beautiful pink Thomsonite flowers. The greens range from a dark green along the upper left to a lighter sage green bottom right. A small silver chain will work with the tarnish-resistant Argentium silver wire setting.. The back is pretty plain, a reminder of how tricky these stones can be--lovely if worked just right, and potentially just a dull green. A perfect Isle Royale Greenstone, you will wear this pendant again and again and enjoy talking about the origins.
Greenstone is the common name for chlorastrolite (chlor meaning green, astro meaning star). Chlorastrolite is the state gem of Michigan, found only in small areas of the Keweenaw Peninsula, and on Isle Royale.
