In real life it would be completely improbable that you would find Greenstone and Copper Agate together, but in our imagination it becomes probable!  These stones were setting side by side on Don's workbench, and he envisioned them together in this improbable piece!  For those in the know, you will be amused but those unaware would think it was the most shiny beautiful Copper Country pendant!

The Greenstone came from the Central Mine, between Calumet and Copper Harbor, and the Copper Agate is from the Kearsarge Lode near Calumet.  The greenstone is rather large (15mm x 10mm), and the Copper Agate is very large (15mm x 25mm). This size and quality of Copper Agate is nearly impossible to find these days.  One side is smooth clear copper, and the other side is copper streaked through the agate.

Wire work is tarnish-resistant Argentium and pink gold, that brings out the copper in the stone.

Greenstone is the common name for chlorastrolite (chlor meaning green, astro meaning star). Chlorastrolite is the state gem of Michigan, found only in small areas of the Keweenaw Peninsula, and on Isle Royale.

Precious gemstones, in such a beautiful handcrafted setting, yields jewelry for today and posterity. For something very special, buy this one!
