More info
This is a tall slim greenstone (15 mm x 7 mm) with a nice contrast of light and dark areas. The silky sheen of the pattern on this stone is just stunning. This is a good thick greenstone, about 5 mm deep.
The Michigan greenstone, also known as chlorastrolite, was selected as the state gem of Michigan in 1973. This rare mineral is found only on small select areas of the Keweenaw Peninsula or on Isle Royale National Park.
