Almost round shaped, this greenstone is about 13mm in diameter with a very nice chatoyant with the turtle-back pattern that is highly coveted. It has a C-shaped crystal-ly light green shape on one side that ads a distinct look to the gemstone.
The greenstone, also known as chlorastrolite, is the state gem of Michigan and is found only is small select areas of the Keweenaw Peninsula or on Isle Royale National Park.
