Do you ever long for the beauty of the remote forests and rugged Lake Superior shores of northermost Michigan? This signature pendant is created and crafted by Don Reed of Snob Appeal Jewelry. Yooperland is an "Up North" specialty.
The copper-infused Firebrick is delicately cut to the Upper Peninsula shape, and placed on the Great Lakes blue background of Blue Lace agate. Isle Royale is an Isle Royale Greenstone collected there years ago before it was a National Park and collecting there became illegal. This Greenstone is round, chatoyant, and really nice. Firebrick is a manufacturing product left over from the early days of copper mining and smelting. The combination is wire-wrapped in tarnish-resistant argentium and rose gold. The wire work includes neat double pulls of rose gold around the cabochon of Blue Lace agate. The pendant features a sweep of rose gold at the top, reflecting the copper tones of the firebrick.
This Greenstone, Blue Lace Agate and Firebrick combination pendant makes a terrific reminder of a beautiful place imbedded in the hearts of many former residents as well as vacationers to the Yooperland.
