In a special butterfly cut of an agate, you cut down the middle and open like a book, creating a mirror image. Usually each side goes into it's own setting, but here you have the Keweenaw Agate (Ledge agate) cut apart and merged back together in a single setting.
The brown sides of the stone create a frame for the pink agate center. Keweenaw agates are an unusual paint agate, an opaque form of agate with a porcelaneous look. They have an unusual pattern which resembles a map with roads going various directions, every which way. In this stone the "roads" seem to run parallel!
The underside of this agate also shows the mirror image.
Tarnish-resistant Argentium wires carefully tuck the two stone pieces together, forming a lovely setting. The top has small swirls, not covering the stone. A beautiful piece for your favorite agate lover! Buy now.
