Wild Chameleon Pietersite Pendant

The cabochon, in this piece of jewelry, came from the miner who brought the stone out of South Africa, cut it, and selected his best pieces to offer for sale at the Tucson gem shows.  Lesser stones go off to other vendors.  I always enjoyed picking through the great selection at this booth.  

Most people think of Pietersite as either blue or gold, but this has a wonderful, almost picture-like quality incorporating both. And it is also a stone that lends itself to either dressing up for the fanciest occasion, or it looks great with denim.  Your choice!

So what if a Chameleon sat down next to this stone and tried to imitate it?  The Chameleon keeps changing colors with the flashing chatoyancy of the gemstone; The lizard explodes in frustration; these are the things that keep my mind occupied, as the jewelry is formed from a gemstone.

The wire wrap is square 14/20 gold fill wires with double pulls around the edge and perfectly spaced ending in a graceful top with small swirls.
